Cotton Plant Housing Authority offers 72 units of affordable housing

Rural Development

The Rural Development program provides payments to owners of USDA-financed Rural Rental Housing or Farm Labor Housing projects on behalf of low-income tenants unable to pay their full rent.

There are 22 Rural Development units that offer section 8 assistance to qualified families.
10 of these units are 1 bedroom for the elderly/ disabled.
12 of these units are 2-4 bedroom family units.

Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD)

Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) is a new way of meeting the large and growing capital improvement needs of the nation’s aging public housing stock.

There are 50 units at the RAD property 1BR – 4BR that offers Section 8 assistance for qualified families. With a Section 8 voucher, the family pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount subsidized by the program.
